Exeter Taekwon-Do was established in 1993, following Master Taverner’s return from Canada, after training with Grand Master Park Jong Soo 9th Dan.
In 1996, Master Taverner found the original organisation founded by First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha 9th Dan in 1967. Thereafter, Exeter Taekwon-Do joined the UK Taekwon-Do Association (UKTA) and International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF). Alongside the UKTA membership, Exeter Taekwon-Do is established with the British Taekwon-Do Council (BTC). The BTC are recognised by the Sports Council as the National Governing Body for Taekwon-Do in the UK.
Exeter Taekwon-Do offer regular training sessions, workshops, seminars and gradings, alongside local, national and international competitions. Therefore, the calendar of area, national and international events have lots to offer everyone each year. Exeter Taekwon-Do has numerous National and International Champions, with many of Master Taverner’s black belts following in his footsteps achieving international honours. This affords a great pedigree along with the pinnacle achievements at European and World Championships.
We have support from high level International and National Instructors, working closely together. The primary objective is to ensure all students benefit from the most relevant and up to date Taekwon-Do training. We offer classes each week (from 6 years of age) with tailored training sessions for children, juniors, seniors and veterans.
